Fetal-like Reversion and Intestinal Regeneration
The objective of this project is to establish an organoid-based platform to evaluate tissue regeneration using intestinal epithelial cells from various species, including humans, dogs, and mice. Moreover, the project aims to identify a new population of stem cells known as Revival Stem Cells (RSCs), which have been recently reported to drive regeneration after tissue damage in various diseases. By elucidating the mechanisms that induce these stem cells, the ultimate objective is to develop novel tissue regeneration strategies that could be applied to the treatment of damaged conditions, such as inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).
